Learning Objectives

Indicator: B9.1.3.1.1 - Produce /r/ and /l/ sounds in different positions in word

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify the /r/ and /l/ sounds when they hear them in words spoken by the teacher or a classmate.
  2. Produce the /r/ sound correctly in words where it appears at the beginning, middle, and end of the word.
  3. Produce the /l/ sound correctly in words where it appears at the beginning, middle, and end of the word.
  4. Distinguish between minimal pairs such as “right” and “light” and pronounce each word clearly so a listener can tell the difference.
  5. Read aloud a short passage containing words with /r/ and /l/ in different positions, using the correct sounds consistently.
