Learning Objectives
Indicator: 1.3.1.LI.3 - Develop relevant research questions for a given problem.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Explain the difference between a research question and a general question about a problem.
- Develop at least three relevant research questions for a given engineering problem.
- Evaluate research questions to determine whether they are specific, measurable, and answerable through research.

Collaborative Learning: Learners work in groups on a given case study to document research questions for a given problem. Learners will make a presentation on the solution to the class. Problem-Based Learning: Learners work on a case study to develop solution requirements and make presentations to the whole class. Assessment (1.3.1.AS.3). The document marks these depth-of-knowledge levels for this indicator: Level 3 Strategic reasoning.
