SHS3 Engineering · Semester 2, Week 7

Energy Efficiency and Conservation

Lesson notes

Learning Objectives

Indicator: 3.2.3.LI.2 - Explain the application areas for the various devices used for energy conservation.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. State at least three major application areas (lighting, cooling/heating, and consumer appliances) for energy conservation devices.
  2. Match at least five specific energy conservation devices to their correct application areas with accurate reasoning.
  3. Explain, in their own words, how a given device saves energy in its specific application area, using correct technical terms.
  4. Justify the choice of a particular energy conservation device for a given real-life scenario, considering the device’s function and limitations.
  5. Participate in group discussions and video observation activities, sharing observations on device applications with the class.
