Indicator: 2.2.1.LI.1 - Identify market needs for arable crops (cereals, legumes, and tuber crops).
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define market needs and list at least four factors that influence the demand for arable crops (cereals, legumes, and tuber crops) in Ghana.
- Identify and categorise the main arable crops found in their local market into cereals, legumes, and tuber crops.
- Explain how consumer preferences, seasonality, and post-harvest quality affect what buyers look for when purchasing arable crops.
- Collect and record data on market needs from a community market or local offices, and present findings in a group report.
- Predict probable market needs for a selected arable crop based on observed market data, demonstrating strategic reasoning about supply and demand.
