Learning Objectives
Indicator: B5.2.3.5.3
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Select at least three compositions from their portfolio that reflect topical issues in Africa, based on the selected theme, time available, and the expected audience.
- Assign individual and group tasks for the display event, including master of ceremony, ushering, introduction of special guests, and recording of comments, and explain why each role matters.
- Arrange the sequence of performances in a logical order that tells the story of the event from beginning to end, justifying the placement of each item.
- Follow the programme of the day by participating in the opening, the performances, and the closing of the display event.
- Use a simple recording template to capture comments and suggestions from the audience during the event.

Learners are to: - decide on the types and number of compositions to be performed during the event to reflect current topical issues of much concern in Africa based on the selected theme, time available and the expected audience; - assign individual and group tasks and responsibilities and ensure they are carried out successfully (e.g. master of ceremony, ushering and introduction of special guests and other dignitaries to the show by explaining the concepts/title of the compositions, performances and the theme for the event, recording of comments and suggestions); - arrange the sequence of performances to best tell the story of the event from the beginning to the end; - follow the programme of the day: opening, performances and closing. NOTE - prepare template for appreciating, appraising, evaluating and reporting, etc.; - clean the hall after the performance.
