Learning Objectives

Indicator: B3.2.3.5.1

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  • Perform own music, dance, or drama composition that shares ideas about the history and culture of people in another African community
  • Explain how the performance communicates specific cultural ideas, values, or historical events to an audience
  • Use at least one digital tool (such as a phone camera or tablet) to record a short segment of the performance for later review
  • Offer constructive feedback to peers on how clearly their performance communicated its cultural message
  • Reflect on the performance experience and state what was learned about the chosen African community’s culture

- perform some of the music, dance and drama displayed during a festival of other African communities;
- perform own music, dance and drama compositions to share ideas, educate and inform the public on own knowledge and understanding of the history and culture of other African communities.
