B4 French · Term 2, Week 1
Dire ce que l'on aime
Lesson notes
Learning Objectives
Indicator: B4.3.1.3.1 - Lire et comprendre un texte simple sur les goûts et des préférences des personnes
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Read aloud a short text about someone’s likes and preferences with acceptable pronunciation.
- Identify and extract key phrases about likes from a simple text (for example, “j’aime”, “je n’aime pas”, “je préfère”).
- Answer simple comprehension questions in English or French about a short text on likes and preferences.
- Match pictures of objects, foods or animals with phrases from a text that describe someone’s likes or dislikes.
- Recognise the difference between the verb forms “j’aime”, “je n’aime pas” and “je préfère” when reading.
This lesson builds on the oral work learners did in Term 1, Week 12 (listening and watching a video about likes) and on the speaking slot earlier in Term 1 Week 2 (asking and answering questions about likes). It prepares them for Term 2, Week 2, where they will write their own list of objects they like.
