By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify diphthongs in given words and distinguish them from digraphs.
- Pronounce the common diphthongs “ou” and “ow” correctly in words.
- Build new words by adding letters or letter blends to given diphthongs.
- Use words containing diphthongs correctly in simple sentences.
- Work cooperatively with a partner to generate and share words with diphthongs.
