Indicator: B3.2.4.1.1 - Use diphthongs to build words

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify diphthongs in given words and distinguish them from digraphs.
  2. Pronounce the common diphthongs “ou” and “ow” correctly in words.
  3. Build new words by adding letters or letter blends to given diphthongs.
  4. Use words containing diphthongs correctly in simple sentences.
  5. Work cooperatively with a partner to generate and share words with diphthongs.
