Indicator: B4.4.2.3.2 - Indiquer l’heure qu’il est en changeant les aiguilles d’une horloge

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Read the time shown on an analogue clock face in French, using expressions such as “Il est une heure”, “Il est deux heures et demie” and “Il est quatre heures moins le quart”.
  2. Move the hands of a paper or board clock to match a time stated in French by the teacher or a classmate.
  3. State the correct time in French after looking at a clock or watch with hands set to a specific time.
  4. Distinguish between “et quart”, “et demie” and “moins le quart” when describing times on the hour, half hour and quarter hour.
  5. Work with a partner to check and correct each other’s clock settings and spoken answers using the French time expressions learned in Term 2, Week 7.
