Learning Objectives
Indicator: B6.1.3.1.8 - Demonstrate data interpretation by computing data to gain required information (e.g. Finding sum or grand total using Electronic Spreadsheet).
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- State the meaning of data interpretation and explain why it is important.
- Compute sums and grand totals from given data using addition and an electronic spreadsheet formula (e.g. =SUM(A1:A5)).
- Interpret the results of their calculations to answer questions such as “What is the total?” or “Which item has the highest value?”
- Use a simple table in an electronic spreadsheet to arrange data before performing calculations.
- Explain how summing data supports decision-making in daily activities such as market sales and school records.
