Learning Objectives
Indicator: B5.1.3.1.4 - Demonstrate sending and sharing information e.g. arranging data, sorting and calculations etc.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Arrange a given list of names or words in alphabetical order, both increasing (A to Z) and decreasing (Z to A).
- Perform basic calculations such as addition, multiplication and division on sample data values.
- Generate age data from their own dates of birth and those of classmates.
- Sort and share organised data with a partner or group using a simple chart or list.
- Explain why sorting data and performing calculations makes information easier to share and understand.

Exemplars (from the NaCCA curriculum)
Task learners to sort data in alphabetical order (increasing and decreasing order) and perform basic calculations such as multiplying, dividing and adding vales of sample data. Learners can also be guided to generate age data from their dates of birth. NB: recall content in B4 and add to it.
