Learning Objectives

Indicator: B9.3.2.1.1 - Discuss tools and equipment used for cutting and shaping

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify at least three cutting and shaping tools used in each of these trade areas: building site, wood workshop, and metal/plastic workshop.
  2. Match appropriate cutting and shaping tools to specific products such as wooden tables, bottle openers, bricks/blocks, dresses, and meals.
  3. State the procedure or steps involved in making at least two of the listed products using the correct cutting and shaping tools.
  4. Prepare and present a chart showing activities and the appropriate cutting and shaping tools used.
  5. Justify their choice of tools for a given product using simple criteria such as material type, precision needed, and safety.
