Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.3.2.1.1 - Identify cutting and shaping tools and equipment used for production.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Name at least five cutting tools and five shaping tools from the four production areas studied (food, sewing, woodwork, building, metal/plastics).
  2. Match each cutting or shaping tool to the correct production area where it is used.
  3. State the specific function or purpose of at least eight different cutting and shaping tools.
  4. Sort a mixed list of tools into two groups: cutting tools and shaping tools.
  5. Justify why a particular tool is classified as a cutting tool or a shaping tool based on what it does to the material.
