Learning Objectives

Indicator: B8.1.3.1.2 - Demonstrate understanding of the design process in relation to creativity and innovations in design.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. List the eight steps of the design process (define, brief, research, ideation, invent, prototype, testing, refine) in the correct order.
  2. Explain the purpose and importance of at least four steps of the design process when solving problems creatively.
  3. Analyse a given product and identify which steps of the design process were likely used to create it.
  4. Evaluate a common Ghanaian product and suggest at least two modifications that could solve a different problem in society.
  5. Justify why following the design process leads to better design solutions than relying only on sudden inspiration.
