Learning Objectives
Indicator: B9.2.2.1.1 - Design and produce own visual artworks that reflect a range of different times, cultures and topical issues
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Research and document the elements of design (colour, media, techniques, composition, content) used in the work of at least one selected artist or artwork from a different time or culture.
- Plan a personal artwork that incorporates at least three elements of design borrowed from their selected artist or artwork.
- Produce an original visual artwork (painting, drawing, collage or batik) that reflects both a cultural influence and a current topical issue.
- Develop and apply a simple self-evaluation checklist using art-specific vocabulary (form, line, texture, colour, shape, unity, balance, variety, harmony, technique, media) to assess their work in progress.
- Present their finished artwork to peers and give constructive feedback using the agreed evaluation criteria.
