Learning Objectives
Indicator: B3.1.6.1.3 - Talk about important places in their communities
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Name at least five important places in their community (such as the market, lorry station, community centre, clinic, and fire service station)
- Describe one or two activities that take place at each of these important places
- State why each place is important to the community and the nation
- Talk about these places in complete sentences using vocabulary like “This is where”, “People go there to”, and “It is important because”
- Listen to classmates talk about places and take turns to share their own views, building on what others have said

- Show pictures of important places in their communities such as the community centre, the lorry station, the mission house, the market, the fire service station etc. - Let learners think-pair-share their views and opinions about the pictures. - Put learners into groups according to the number of pictures. - Have each group talk about the activities that go on in these places and their importance to the community and the nation.
