Learning Objectives
Indicator: B3.1.6.2.4 - Express a greater variety of communicative meaning (e.g. apologising, agreeing or disagreeing)
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify and state at least three different communicative meanings (apologising, agreeing, disagreeing) when they hear them in short conversations.
- Use polite phrases to apologise in different situations, such as “I am sorry,” “Please forgive me,” and “Excuse me.”
- Express agreement with a partner using phrases like “I agree,” “You are right,” and “That is true.”
- Express disagreement politely using phrases like “I disagree,” “I do not think so,” and “I see it differently.”
- Role-play a short conversation in which they apologise, agree, and disagree appropriately with a partner on a familiar topic.
