Learning Objectives

Indicator: B9.1.1.1.2 - Ask questions that link the ideas of several speakers and respond to others’ questions in a discussion

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify open-ended question stems that link the ideas of two or more speakers in a discussion.
  2. Use open-ended questions to connect what one speaker has said to the views of earlier speakers.
  3. Listen attentively to several speakers and summarise their different viewpoints accurately.
  4. Respond appropriately to questions asked by other speakers during a group discussion.
  5. Participate in a small-group discussion on a given topic using questions that show they have followed the thread of the conversation.
