Learning Objectives
Indicator: B8.1.1.1.3 - Use appropriate language orally to describe familiar places and events
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify descriptive language (adjectives, sense words, adverbs, similes and metaphors) in a spoken description of a familiar place or event.
- Use at least five descriptive words or phrases that appeal to different senses when describing a familiar place.
- Give a clear two-minute oral description of a familiar event, such as a festival durbar or a local market day, using correct descriptive language.
- Use figurative language, such as a simile or metaphor, appropriately when describing a place or event.
- Listen to a peer’s description and identify at least three descriptive words or phrases they used.
