Learning Objectives
Indicator: B8.1.1.1.4 - Listen to and give accurate directions of complex routes to different locations
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify and explain vocabulary and expressions used in giving accurate directions to complex locations, including street names, complex prepositions (in between, quite a distance, a day’s journey).
- Listen attentively to a set of directions and recall the sequence of landmarks and turns accurately.
- Use relatively permanent landmarks such as high-rise buildings, supermarkets, churches, mosques, schools and hospitals as reference points when giving directions.
- Give accurate oral directions for a complex route in their local community, using precise prepositions and sequencing words.
- Evaluate a partner’s directions for accuracy and completeness, offering specific feedback for improvement.
