Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.1.1.1.4 - Listen to and give accurate directions to familiar places

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  • Listen attentively to a set of directions and identify the key vocabulary used (opposite, adjacent, turn left, turn right, etc.).
  • Give accurate oral directions to a familiar place in their school or community using at least three directional phrases and two landmarks.
  • Use directional vocabulary (opposite, adjacent, a few metres away, ten-minute walk/drive, turn left/right) correctly in sentences.
  • Follow a partner’s spoken directions and physically trace the route on a simple map or in real space.
  • Evaluate whether a set of directions is complete and accurate, and ask clarifying questions when details are missing.
