Indicator: B2.1.6.2.2 - Ask and answer questions for clarifications about what other people say

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. State the rules of turn-taking in conversation and explain why they matter.
  2. Identify phrases and question words used to ask for clarification when they do not understand someone.
  3. Ask at least two clarification questions in response to a partner’s statement during a short conversation.
  4. Answer clarification questions by repeating or rephrasing their own words clearly.
  5. Use polite and appropriate language when asking for or giving clarification in a conversation.
