Learning Objectives

Indicator: 1.6.3.LI.1 - Examine the types and relevance of consumer rights

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify at least six types of consumer rights recognised in Ghana and internationally, stating each one in their own words.
  2. Explain the relevance of each consumer right using a real-life example from the Ghanaian market or service sector.
  3. Discuss how consumer rights apply differently to males and females in Ghanaian society, with at least one concrete example for each gender.
  4. Demonstrate an understanding of the link between consumer rights and consumer responsibilities by giving two examples of responsible consumer behaviour.
  5. Present a short group presentation that clearly communicates at least three consumer rights and their importance to the class.
