Learning Objectives
Indicator: 3.2.2.LI.2 - Discuss the Threats to Computer Security and how to Prevent such Threats.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify at least six common threats to computer security, including malware, phishing, ransomware, and social engineering.
- Explain how each identified threat operates and the potential damage it can cause to individuals and organisations.
- Describe practical prevention strategies for each threat, such as using strong passwords, updating software, and recognising phishing attempts.
- Classify threats into categories such as malicious software, network attacks, and human factors.
- Apply prevention strategies to real-life scenarios and recommend appropriate actions for given situations.
