Learning Objectives
Indicator: B6.4.1.4.1 - Faire des calculs simples à l’écrit avec des chiffres en lettres
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Write numbers from 1 to 100 in French words (letters) correctly, particularly numbers that appear in simple arithmetic calculations.
- Write out simple addition, subtraction, and multiplication calculations in complete French sentences, using the words “plus”, “moins”, “fois”, and “égale”.
- Solve a written calculation by first converting the numerals into words, then writing the full equation in French.
- Compose two original written calculations (one addition or subtraction, one multiplication) with numbers written in words, and provide the correct answers in words.
- Read aloud a written calculation in French, demonstrating correct pronunciation of number words and mathematical vocabulary.
