Learning Objectives

Indicator: B9.1.1.1.3 - Demonstrate the ability to extrapolate and respond to essential general ideas and information from topical national issues.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify the main topic and general idea from a short Arabic audio text on a national issue such as smoking, sleep deprivation, or youth problems.
  2. Extract two or three key facts or details from the audio text when asked “what” and “why” questions in Arabic.
  3. Give a brief oral interpretation of the speaker’s message in their own words, using simple Arabic sentences.
  4. Respond to comprehension questions about the text by stating the general idea rather than repeating exact words.
  5. Express a personal opinion on the national issue discussed, using phrases such as “أعتقد أن” (I think that) or “في رأيي” (in my opinion).
