Learning Objectives

Indicator: B9.2.1.1.1 - Read a variety of grade level texts and demonstrate understanding

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Set at least one specific learning purpose before reading a text, and state it clearly in their own words.
  2. Read a grade-level passage aloud or silently with reasonable fluency and accuracy.
  3. Answer literal, inferential and evaluative questions based on the text.
  4. Apply at least two reading strategies (skimming, scanning, predicting, questioning) to locate and understand information in a text.
  5. Identify the main idea and supporting details of a passage and express them in their own words.
