Learning Objectives
Indicator: B8.2.1.2.6 - Examine the connections between a text and other points of view
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify the main viewpoint or position expressed in a given text.
- State their own point of view on an issue raised in a text and explain the reasons for their view.
- Compare their own viewpoint with the viewpoint expressed in the text, noting at least one similarity or difference.
- Connect the text’s message to the viewpoints of other people they know (family members, friends, community elders) and provide evidence from the text to support or challenge those viewpoints.
- Answer comprehension questions on a text by citing specific evidence from the passage to support their answers.
