By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Read a short passage closely and state the main idea in one sentence.
- Generate two or more simple themes from a given passage.
- Select relevant details from the text that support each theme they identify.
- Apply a theme from the text to a different real-life situation and explain the connection.
- Present their theme and its application to the class clearly, using evidence from the text.
