Learning Objectives
Indicator: B5.2.7.1.4 - Read level-appropriate texts silently and closely for comprehension.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify and state the three stages of reading strategies: Before Reading, During Reading, and After Reading.
- Apply the Before Reading strategy by previewing a text and making predictions about its content.
- Read a level-appropriate text silently, using the During Reading strategies of questioning, visualising, and noting key ideas.
- Demonstrate comprehension by answering questions about the text after completing the After Reading strategy.
- Give at least one reason why silent close reading helps them understand a text better than reading aloud.
