Indicator: B5.2.7.1.3 - Scan texts for details

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Explain what it means to scan a text and state at least two differences between scanning and skimming.
  2. Scan a given text within a short time frame to locate specific details such as names, dates, places and numbers.
  3. Write down accurate details extracted from a scanned text without reading every word.
  4. Compare their scanned answers with classmates and justify their choices using evidence from the text.
