By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Explain what it means to scan a text and state at least two differences between scanning and skimming.
- Scan a given text within a short time frame to locate specific details such as names, dates, places and numbers.
- Write down accurate details extracted from a scanned text without reading every word.
- Compare their scanned answers with classmates and justify their choices using evidence from the text.
