By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Survey a short text by skimming its headings, sub-headings and pictures to predict what it is about.
Formulate at least two questions about a text before reading it fully.
Read a short passage and identify the main idea of each paragraph in the order they appear.
Recall and state the main ideas of a text in the correct sequence using their own words.
Use the SQ3R steps (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) to work through a short text independently.
