Indicator: B4.2.7.1.4 - Read level-appropriate texts silently and closely for comprehension.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- State at least two reasons why silent reading is important for understanding a text.
- Answer pre-reading questions by reading a level-appropriate text silently and closely.
- Locate specific details in a text by reading silently without moving their lips or pointing at words.
- Summarise, in one or two sentences, what a short passage read silently was about.
- Work with a partner to compare answers to comprehension questions after silent reading.
