Indicator: B4.2.7.1.3 - Skim for main ideas in texts

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Explain that skimming means reading quickly to get the general idea of a text without reading every word.
Skim a short level-appropriate text within 2 to 3 minutes and identify the main idea of the whole text.
Distinguish between skimming (general idea) and scanning (specific information), building on the reading habits from Week 3.
State the main idea of each paragraph in a short text after skimming, using their own words.
Use skimming as a preparation step before reading a text closely and carefully, which they will practise further in the next lesson.
