Learning Objectives

Indicator: B3.2.7.2.2 - Respond to stories with own opinion and value judgment

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. State their personal opinion about a story they have read or heard, using sentence frames such as “I think…” and “In my opinion…”
  2. Give a simple value judgment about a character’s actions, explaining whether the action was good or bad and why.
  3. Express their opinion about the setting of a story and whether it made the story interesting or not.
  4. Respond to questions about story events by agreeing or disagreeing with a classmate’s opinion and giving a reason.
  5. Use polite language (e.g., “I agree because…”, “I disagree because…”) when sharing judgments with peers.
