Indicator: B2.2.7.2.1 - Demonstrate understanding of the purpose and features of information texts

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define an information text and state its main purpose in their own words.
  2. Identify at least three common features of information texts (title, headings, pictures or photographs, captions, and facts).
  3. Sort given texts into “information texts” and “story texts” and give a reason for each choice.
  4. Read a short information text and point out its purpose and two of its features.
  5. Work with a partner to share and explain what they have noticed about information texts.
