Indicator: B1.2.7.1.1 - Use illustrations, text clues (title, headings) and context to make inferences and predictions
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Look at a picture or illustration and say what they think will happen in the story, giving one reason for their prediction.
- Read the title and headings of a short text and predict what the text will be about.
- Use clues from a sentence to guess the meaning of an unfamiliar word.
- Stop during reading to update or change their predictions based on new information found in the text.
