By the end of the lesson, learners can:

State the purpose of a narrative text in their own words
Identify at least three features of a narrative text (characters, setting, and a sequence of events)
Distinguish a narrative text from a non-narrative text when given short examples
Point out the beginning, middle, and end of a simple story they have read or heard
Explain in one sentence why an author might write a story (to entertain, to share an experience)
