By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Identify full-sized external hard drives, portable hard drives, and optical discs (CD, DVD, Blu-ray) by sight and name.
Explain hard drive speed in terms of revolutions per minute (RPM) and how it affects performance.
Describe disk caching and why it helps the computer work faster.
Distinguish between read-only, recordable, and rewritable optical discs, and state their storage capacities.
Compare the storage capacities and common uses of different external storage devices and optical discs.
