By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify at least five factors that influence the selection of compliant materials for making products.
- Explain how the purpose and function of a product determine the choice of material.
- Analyse how availability of materials and cost affect material selection in local contexts.
- Discuss how the skill level of the designer or maker influences material choice.
- Justify material selections for a given product by applying at least three selection factors.
