Learning Objectives

Indicator: 3.1.3.LI.2 - Explain ways by which the Performing Arts are connected and related to other art forms in the Global Society.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  • Explain at least three specific connections between the Performing Arts (drama, dance, music) and other art forms such as visual arts, literature, and film in the global society.
  • Compare and contrast two art forms, identifying similarities and differences in themes, techniques, and cultural contexts.
  • Create a concept map showing the interconnectedness between the Performing Arts and at least four other art forms.
  • Present a pitch for an interdisciplinary artistic project, demonstrating understanding of how Performing Arts connect to other art forms.
  • Participate in a panel discussion, articulating connections between Performing Arts and other art forms with respect for divergent views.

- pitch ideas for interdisciplinary artistic projects, demonstrating understanding of connections and relationships between art forms. Brainstorm on areas the Performing Arts are related to other art forms in the global society.

Activity-Based Learning: In small groups, create concept maps to show the interconnectedness between the performing arts and the other art forms in the global society.
