Learning Objectives
Indicator: 1.1.3.LI.2 - Explain ways by which the Performing Arts [DANCE, MUSIC, DRAMA, or a collaboration] are connected and related to the other art forms in the Ghanaian society.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify at least four art forms in Ghanaian society other than the Performing Arts and describe briefly what each one involves.
- Explain, with specific Ghanaian examples, at least three ways in which music, dance, or drama connects with visual arts, literary arts, or architecture.
- Analyse a given Ghanaian festival or ceremony and trace the connections between the Performing Arts and other art forms present in that event.
- Work collaboratively in mixed groups to present a short oral explanation of the relationships between Performing Arts and other arts, using appropriate Performing Arts terminology.
- Justify why an understanding of the links between Performing Arts and other art forms strengthens social interaction and cultural identity in Ghana.
