Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.5.2.LI.2 - Discuss the various modes of communication in Agriculture.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify at least five distinct modes of communication used in agricultural enterprises (verbal, written, visual, electronic, and non-verbal).
  2. Explain the advantages and limitations of each mode of communication in agricultural contexts.
  3. Demonstrate at least three modes of communication through role-play or practical demonstration in small groups.
  4. Match appropriate communication modes to specific agricultural situations (e.g., extension services, market pricing, farmer cooperatives).
  5. Evaluate which communication mode is most effective for a given agricultural scenario and justify their choice with reasons.

Think-pair-share: In pairs, learners surf the internet for information on the modes of communication in Agriculture and present their findings in class.
Project based learning: In a mixed- gender groups, learners watch a short documentary on the various modes of communication in Agriculture. They then practice the various modes of communication among other groups in class. Videos/pictures used should not enforce stereotyping and if they do, teachers should discuss them with learners.
