Indicator: 1.1.3.LI.3 - Discuss the various levels of prevention of disease
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define disease prevention and explain why prevention is better than cure using local examples.
- Identify and describe the three levels of disease prevention: primary, secondary, and tertiary.
- Classify specific prevention activities under the correct level of prevention.
- Apply the concept of prevention levels to common diseases in Ghana by suggesting appropriate prevention measures for each level.
- Evaluate scenarios and determine which level of prevention is being applied, justifying their reasoning.
