Climate Change Variability and Change

Lesson notes

Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.4.1.LI.1 - Describe other atmospheric changes and their threat to environmental and rural livelihood sustainability.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify at least four atmospheric changes other than global warming, such as ozone layer depletion, acid rain, atmospheric pollution and changes in rainfall patterns.
  2. Explain how each atmospheric change threatens environmental sustainability, using specific examples from agriculture and natural resources.
  3. Describe how these atmospheric changes affect rural livelihoods, including farming, fishing and livestock keeping.
  4. Discuss human activities that contribute to atmospheric changes and propose simple mitigation measures.
