Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.5.4.1.1 - Search for information on ways sustainable energy choices and scientific ideas are used to protect the environment.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define sustainable energy and identify at least four sources of sustainable energy available in Ghana.
  2. Explain the greenhouse effect and describe how human activities contribute to it.
  3. Describe at least three sustainable energy choices individuals and communities in Ghana can make to protect the environment.
  4. Use information from multiple sources (books, internet, interviews) to identify scientific ideas that help reduce environmental damage.
  5. Present a simple plan for a locally sustained energy project that could protect their school or community environment.
