Learning Objectives

Indicator: 1.3.4.LI.3 - Describe road signs and markings and their implications for road safety in Ghana

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify at least five different road signs and road markings commonly found on Ghanaian roads and state what each one means.
  2. Classify road signs into their main categories (regulatory, warning, informatory) based on their shape, colour, and purpose.
  3. Explain the implications of specific road signs and markings for the safety of road users such as pedestrians, drivers, and cyclists.
  4. Analyse a picture or video clip of a Ghanaian road scene and describe how the road signs and markings present contribute to road safety.
  5. Create a simple roadside scenario and propose appropriate road signs or markings that should be placed there, justifying their choices.
