Learning Objectives
Indicator: B7.3.1.1.1 - Show preliminary reading skill in producing the various Arabic syllables.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify and pronounce the Arabic syllables قَا (qaa), كَا (kaa), and بَان (baan) with correct articulation.
- Combine two or three Arabic syllables to read two-syllable words such as قَامَ (qaama) and كَاتِب (kaatib).
- Read simple Arabic phrases containing the target syllables, such as سَيَّارَةُ أَبِي (my father’s car), with acceptable accuracy.
- Distinguish between syllable structures where a consonant carries a vowel (e.g., مَ) and where it does not (e.g., مْ).
- Work in pairs to practise reading syllables aloud and give one another simple feedback on pronunciation.
