Changing Weather Conditions

Learning Objectives
Indicator: K1.6.9.1.3 - Identify initial letter-sounds of weather and write them under the appropriate pictures.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Say the initial letter-sound of at least three weather condition pictures (sun, rain, cloud, wind) when shown the picture.
- Match weather pictures to their corresponding initial letter cards correctly.
- Write or trace the initial letter under the correct weather picture.
- Say the name of each weather condition together with its initial letter-sound (for example, “sun, sss, s”).
- Talk about the weather they see outside using the initial letter-sounds learnt.

Using pictures, guide learners to identify and name the initial letter sounds of the various weather conditions as done in K1.6.8.1.3 Ask learners to use letter cards and match with the pictures. Guide learners to write the letter sounds under picture of the weather conditions. You can let them post the letter under the picture too.
