Learning Objectives

Indicator: K1.1.3.1.6 - Match the parts of the body to the tools we use in caring for the body and colour them with same colour.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Point to and name at least four body parts (hand, teeth, face, nose) and the tools used to care for each one.
Match a body part with its correct caring tool when shown pictures on a worksheet (for example, soap with hand, toothbrush with teeth).
Colour a body part and its matching tool using the same colour.
Talk about their matching and colouring work with a friend, saying which tool goes with which body part.
Look at a friend’s completed worksheet and say in one short sentence what the illustration is about (for example, “This is soap for washing hands”).

Exemplars (from the NaCCA curriculum)

Display an outline of drawing on a paper for pupils to match the tools with the body part and use same colour for each body part and its tool. Talk about the colouring with their friends. Tell what the illustration is about to friends with accuracy. E.g. An outline of soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.
